I tried to search for a bit but haven’t found much luck.
Trying to run some wires through the firewall but seems like I’m getting stuck on something (maybe thick rubber lining?). I’ve seen some say they pushed a screwdriver through to open a hole just was worried with all the wires nearby. I feel like I can lift or move the lining from cab side, but can’t feel fish tape wire itself, can tell it’s hitting right around there though.
Would prefer to stay on driver side so, not opposed to drilling a hole but ideally wouldn’t need to. Anyone done this on this year/location and have any advice?
Thank you in advance

Used screwdriver to get through, super simple. I just pushed through the next barrier, did angle a little towards bigger wire grouping and there's almost a slit from cab side I could feel the screwdriver then the fish wire once I put it in then after grabbing it, finagled it through.

Couldn’t figure out how to delete this thread.

i just did this very thing this past weekend, running 2/0 wire through that very spot...

I first cut a piece of 10 AWG wire and made the end "pointy" and used it to go through this ***********. Finding where this comes through in the cabin is "painful." ( My back is still aching ). With a light and laying in the right position you can see and feel where this wire comes through. I ended up pushing a couple feet through before it emerged from being hung up on something.

I intentionally didn't use a fish tape because I was afraid of getting snagged on another wire and doing some damage...

So i pulled the 10 AWG through enough, then taped it to my larger wire and sprayed a little silicone on the larger wire as I fed it through while my son was pulling on the 10 AWG in the cabin.

Go slow, be careful not to get snagged on anything else and you can get it through.

Note, I ended up running my cable down and under the drivers seat. There wasn't enough room to run the wire in the channel, as the resultant "bulge" made it so that my trim pieces would not fit.

I recommend using a rubber grommet in the firewall hole to prevent chaffing of the wire while the truck is in motion. You can get an assorted grommet blister pack at your local auto [arts store. Also, I suggest that you put some high temperature caulk or RTV around the wire and grommet to prevent any fumes from seeping into the interior of the truck.

Sick build! Supercharged has to move!

Thank you. I’ll do the caulk or RTV around the wire and grommet. I went through the hole in the original picture, I put a AFR gauge behind infotainment screen so didn’t want it being Jerry rigged.

Good point. Ended up using add-a-fuse to wire up AEM afr gauge. That was a pain to find a true ignition-switched fuse but ended up using fuse # 75 (10A MISC IGN SPARE) and it works perfectly.

For poking through firewall grommets a wire hanger works good a lot of the time, as well as the fiberglass rod snake things. Tape the wire to the other end and pull it through. You can use a little dielectric grease to help it slide as well. Just make sure to be VERY careful if you're going through existing wiring harness grommets.

Went this way here. I still need to seal it up though

Oh yeah..... It moves quite nicely. Gas mileage took a slight hit, but I don't care.
