My RSE screen won’t turn on in my 2016 Yukon.

I replaced the RSE #20 fuse on the passenger side which didn’t change anything.

When I push the video button on my in dash screen nothing happens.

Even with no signal, it used to at least turn the LCD screen on. Now it does nothing.

I fiddled with the entertainment remote also to no avail.

Any expertise would be appreciated, I’m not too excited about replacing the whole rear entertainment unit.

I’m experiencing the same issue on my 2nd row screen.

There’s hope, at least there is a cost affective repair option worth pursuing before you spend the $ to replace.

You may find this thread helpful:

There’s a very detailed how to video on page 6.

I picked up a few of the replacement ribbons on eBay.

Awesome, thank you!! I’ll check it out.

FYI… GM part number for the gray trimmed 2nd row RSE unit is 84539507.

Well unfortunately the new ribbon cable didn’t solve my problem.

It could be the hinge on/off switch or it might just be fried. Although I’m not sure why it would just die.

Any more insight would be appreciated!

For giggles I checked everything again. Nothing.

Tried the “flip the OEM ribbon cable” trick. Nothing.

Looked at the hinge switch which seems to be working properly.

Sooooo, looks like I need to try a new unit. I’ll update more as things develop.

Man that’s discouraging to hear! Was really hoping that solved your issue, as I haven’t removed mine to do the ribbon swap. And I’m really hoping that’s all it takes to fix mine!

Fingers crossed for you.

FYI… the screws holding the unit to the roof are 7mm hex head.

Be careful when prying the LCD panel cover apart. The plastic is soft. Maybe one of those plastic prying pick tools. Good luck!

Still not working. I open it every now and then to see if it magically comes one. Spoiler alert...it doesn't, LOL!

I need to order one but it's annoying shelling out $250-350 for a somewhat crappy 2016 LCD screen. And those are used prices. New they're something like $8 gazillion dollars.
