Rough idle In drive - Bulletin No.: 17-NA-166

Hi All,

I have a 2019 Tahoe 5.3L and I’m getting symptoms as described in Bulletin No.: 17-NA-166 . Mostly happens stopped at stop light I can feel the occasional tumble/shiver. I took it to the dealer the other day and they stated that all of the pico sensor readings are within range.

Do I have any recourse or any actions I can take ?

I had the same issue. They changed the motor mounts and did the sensor test and confirmed it’s within range. It was better but not perfect. It’s annoying. I just got a tuner and raised the idle to 600RPM while in drive and park. It’s smooth now. I think these engines just idle too low. Mine at the low point was idling at 480. Emission regulations I guess.

hey thanks for that info, glad you found something that works! What tuner did you use? I was trying to avoid getting too crazy altering things so that I don’t do anything to void the warranty on the Tahoe but if it works, and it’s not big issue I’m tempted.

Diablo sport I3. Then I decided to get a Diablew tune. But you don’t need a tune to raise idle. You can just alter the stock tune. Oh and turn off the cylinder deactivation as well. V8 all the time
