I don't like these truck without a rack personally, the shift in body line makes it look goofy. You can buy metric bolts with low profile heads that are barely noticeable but it still looks weird :imo:

I used a cap like this and used silicone to fill the hole and make the cap stick

It's just a matter of personal preferance. I had a slammed 01 tahoe and they looked good off. Now I have an 02 yukon lifted and I like them on, but my wifes 02 denali's are deleted.

here's my how to thread. i do understand what people say about the body line, i could always put my rack back on though. i was going for a street look with smooth vents and rollpan because i thought i was going to lower it, now i'm lifting it....lol...oh well. i did it this way because of money (i.e. shaving or escalade rack), but i didn't like seeing the tops of those threaded inserts.

thats the biggest problem is seeing those brass colored holes. i tried Black Denalis option today after taking mine off but those black plastic trip buttons dont come down far enough to cover it up

The caps I used don't completely cover the brass either. They completely cover the top and that was good enough for me. If you don't no they are there you will never notice :imo:

got some set screws put them down a couple centimeters and took a bottle of touch up paint and dripped it over the set screws to make a pool of paint let it dry and its sealed up and smooth looking :)
