Thanks guys. I am definately getting too old to be pulling trannys in my driveway. I might end up building a shop in my backyard though.
I hear ya there, man! My kids either need to get bigger and stronger so they can help or I need a shop with a lift in the super near future LOL

I don’t know Mark, i think building a shop is tougher than pulling a trans.....;)

To be honest, unless its an absolute necessity, as i get older i find myself paying people to do things for me because I don’t want to hurt in the morning...crazy thing is, i did something to my shoulder, i know its my rotator but for the life of me I can’t remember what i did.... it was probably in my sleep....

Anyway, back to the matter at hand, i hope they get it back to you soon and you’re back up and running right quick.

Yeah, well finding a shop to work on my rigs is almost impossible. When I wanted to swap cams on The Beast, everybody wanted to pull the blower and do it from the top even though I explained how to do it from the front without doing that. And I guarantee that if they DID screw up enough courage to pull the blower, they'd never get it running again. They also told me they couldn't even start on it for like 3 months which I decided meant they didn't want to do it. And no quote, just a blank check. I did it in a day. And as for The Machine, nobody would touch it even if they knew how to. No, either I go to mostly stock rigs and pay to have people work on them or do it myself. I'll be an old man with bad ass rigs until I die lmao.

Aah I get it. Yeah, I might some day too. But for now I’m still too cheap to pay someone to do something I can do. As far as a small shop, I have all the tools like air nailers, chop saws, table saws, etc to build shit that makes it pretty easy. Plus a concrete basketball court pad that’s perfect. I could take my time and it wouldn’t be bad. I’m gonna need something to do when I retire in a few years too. I don’t see me just lounging around the house all the time lol. Just most of the time.

Before you lay out your plans, stop by any local roof truss builder, if you have any. There are a few around me and I stopped in when i was building my garage at my last house. They had trusses already made for a job that the contractor cancelled for some reason or another and since they wanted to get rid of them i got them cheap and based my garage dimensions off of them. It wasn’t my ideal size but it saved a shit ton of money. They had at least 3-5 jobs that were canceled so i had a choice. Granted that 15-20 years ago but hey, ya never know. Just ideas.

I had broken a couple bolts on the exhaust when I removed it so today I got under there and applied alot of heat and a bfh to get the studs out. The local Oreilly didn’t have them so I ordered some off Amazon. They’re the ones that have a knurled shaft with no head.

My buddy in Mississippi just scored a load of trusses from a local auction site. Got 23 30' welded galvanized square tube trusses for $440. He only needs a few for a 30x32ish shop and has already sold 10 of 'em for $800.

Regular bolts wouldn't work? Or some with a hex socket head if there's no room for a socket on a regular hex bolt?
