Hey everyone,

I’m getting ready to lift my 2001 Tahoe a few inches using Kryptonite upper control arms and torsion keys up front, and Z71 springs with spacers in the rear.

Quick question: should I keep the rear coil spring insulators, or ditch them? And if I do keep them, do they go between the axle and the spacer, or between the spacer and the spring?

Appreciate any input—just want to make sure I get it right the first time.

Thanks!

I've always used insulators to sandwich the spring, as the compression/rotation/deflection will cause that annoying squeak noise. I see the spacer as a solid "part" of the axle, which won't contribute to squeaking. My thought is the insulator should isolate the spring from the body, axle, and in this case, spacer. Let's see what others say.

I’ve never used spring spacers before I just ordered lift springs to avoid the spacers. But like above I believe it would go between the spring and the spacer I’m assuming?

Thank you all for the replies! It seems the general consensus is to install them between the bottom of the spring and the spacer, so I’ll do that once the springs arrive. I’ll update this thread once everything is installed.

Thanks again, everyone!
