replacing stock sub options?

there was alot of talk on GMFS forumn of just replacing the stock bose sub for possibly a 8inch kicker? Not looking to "drop the bass" so this sound like the best option? any ideas

i went with a MTX Thunderform box that fits where the stock sub goes

and a MTX FPR 10" shallow mount sub 2ohm

edit: i feel like you get a lot more bang for your buck with this setup as opposed to the JL audio stealthbox imo

Where is the sub on a 2007 Yukon Denali? I have cup holders and a center console between my front seats. Not sure if I have a sub in there or not. I'd like a little bump. Maybe by adding a 10 or 12. Def not trying to win any contests. Just want it to hit the low notes which the stock ones can't do. I put a 12" mtx in my Honda and it was great but that box is kinda big. I like the stealth option to get the same quality bass. I think I had a kicker amp pushing the sub.

The 2007-20012 systems are the same in the denalis and escalade for those years.

Well that just sux, I looked them up for my application and 2004 Denali isn't listed. It actually covers 2001-2006 Yukon NON-Denali's. I guess I need to make a phone call to determine whether I can add this to ours.

It blows the factory sub out of the water.


I don't think it will fit on the Escalade though.

On the Denali it must be the pocket in front of the cup holder than that causes the issue. My center console doesn't have vents, but does have a radio tuner in the top of the back.

Im sure this has been discussed but is there a PAC aux adapter/module for the 2011 tahoes With bose system. It would be nice to keep the small bose sub up front and another 10/12inch sub in the back.

I kept the factory sub and added a kicker solobaric and jl500/1 amp to the middle row by patching it into the factory sub wiring with a audio control lc2i

He used a line out converter to make RCA's from the factory subs wiring. He didn't cut the wires, he just taped into them so the factory sub will still stay. The he used the line out converter to make an RCA out to go to the sub amp.

Thanks! I was at a shop today looking at my options. I think this would be best for me cause I'm just gonna add a box next to one of the third row seats.

looking at Mtx RT8PT. should add a little more bump without getting crazy, and cant beat the price.
