And moms boat tucked into the driveway when we got home last night.
And my thermostat o ring fix was flawless! Not a drop of leaked coolant from my truck the entire weekend. Plugged in the tech2 on the way home to monitor real time data and temps and engine and coolant temps never went above 200 degrees even up the grades towing! I’m getting better and better with each necessary fix! Lol

Even with the couple little hiccups it was a really fun trip. Wished I’d stayed out there a bit longer.... but you know.... that work thing.... lol

My S10 did this after a cheap LED turn signal bulb swap. I've also heard of poor grounds causing the power to backfeed.

So I went through this evening and thoroughly cleaned and inspected all of the grounding points. All are clean now and tightened down snug. And none of them had any frayed or bad wiring that I could see. The problem persists. I’m stumped and really frustrated. Lol.

It looks now like it’s going into limp mode. I just ordered a used ECM as I wait to hear from BlackBear after sending them a log file to look over which might take weeks to get to.

So yesterday I finally got the turn signal issue fixed. I had a busy A S S day and was so irritated with it. Got back up the mountain from a quick trip down to chemical guys and when I got home I decided let’s pull the fuse for the turn signal and see what happens. Pulled the fuse and arrow in my glass and the green arrow in my cluster where still staying dimly lit.... I’m like well that’s not supposed to happen.... so I pulled the turn signal lense off the truck and pulled both turn signal sockets out. The main signal socket had some wires spliced together from where I had previously tapped into it for some aftermarket lights that I ended up taking off a while back cuz they were janky and ghetto looking. The wiring was all loose. I jiggled it around a couple times and the turn signal started functioning normally. So I pulled all the splice connectors and redid everything with fresh connectors and made sure to crimp them down nice and snug. I grabbed heat shrink tubing and warmed it up to snug it up and make sure everything was properly sealed. And now my turn signal works as it should. In the process of taking the bulb in and out of the socket a couple times while I was fixing wires and what not, the bulb blew..... picked up a new bulb this morning and it’s good to go. Lol.

Yup! When I was in Utah, my best friends younger brother was showing me those heat shrink connectors. He’s an aviation mechanic working for Skywest and and is pretty much the biggest gearhead I know. Lol. I need to order a box of those. It’s next on the list.

So my mom has a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. She’s had it for about 5 years about 60ish thousand miles. It’s been an interesting adventure with it. She posted it for sale in May and had a couple hits but nothing serious. Well that changed last weekend. The first buyer that was interested in it showed up with cash in hand and bought it for what my mom was asking for it. So the mad dash to find a newer vehicle for her was on. I have been wanting her to get into a 2014 or newer grand Cherokee as our family friend has had a 2014 and currently has a 2019 and I really like both. The 8 speed transmission is light years better than the garbage 5 speed her 2011 has. Well we found a gorgeous 2014 overland package 4x4 grand Cherokee for sale in Scottsdale Arizona, with the right amount of miles and an excellent price point given the options and mileage it has. It was by far the best deal we found online out of all the Jeep’s we looked at. So I talked her into the trip and the jeep and we made the 6 hour drive to Scottsdale today, and low and behold, mom bought a jeep! It’s a fabulous ride! I like it a lot! Well maintained one owner 2014 grand Cherokee overland 4x4 with 51k on the odometer!! almost fully loaded. 8 speed trans with the 5.7L hemi V8. Of course had to get the road tank pictured with the new whip! Lol

She loves it. Her 2011 has the hemi as well and it’s a great engine. She looked at some V6 versions and I basically talked her out of it because the V6 just isn’t really well suited for towing her boat.
