Just picked up a new burb and want to install HID. Wondering if a harness is necessary in these trucks. I have installed a few in other cars that work fine with out a harness.

Get one to be safe. That's what I did. Also if you search a couple of guys say it extends the life of the bulb.

I didn't put a harness on my lows, but I did on my fogs. That was over 3 years ago. They worked fine up until recently. Now they flicker sometimes, and only one light will come on. But the fogs have zero issues. I did replace the bulbs in all of them about 8 months ago. I had one fog go out, and I just replaced the lows too simply due to age. They still have the original ballasts from 3+ years ago too.
So basically, you can get away with no harness but your ballasts will last a bit longer with a harness.
