i heard its common for the driver side button console to go bad, but if i dont want the window lockout feature can i just clip a wire to disable it and then the windows will work independently?

The issue is most likely that the switch at each door has failed. You can buy a new switch for under $20 and it'll take you only 5 minutes to replace each.
have you tried pressing the window lock out button maybe you pressed iti heard its common for the driver side button console to go bad, but if i dont want the window lockout feature can i just clip a wire to disable it and then the windows will work independently?
thanks, so it seems like it is ussually at each door switch? i figured it was a bad lockout switch. i will probably pull the drivers console out and bypass the lockout switch first to be sure it is at the door.
thanks
following this as my rear windows are also plagued with this & i’ve been meaning to track down the issue.Hey GMT family, recently starting having this issue where intermittently, both rear windows will only operate with the drivers controls on my Denali.
And to fix this all you all did was replace the window switches?
Thanks I’ll try that this weekendThe rear switches would not have all quit at the same time. My bet it the driver lockout switch, i've had to replace 2 of them, worked both times. The driver lockout gets wet from window down in rain, spilled drivers drinks etc. you can sometimes just pry it out from the tpo, no need to remove the door panel, and at least unhook plug and test it. Piece of cake!
That’s exactly what mine does. Rolls down but doesn’t roll back up unless I use the drivers door. It only happens from time to time but I might start with replacing the switches since they’re only like $10.just for reference info both my rear window switches went funky about a week apart, had ordered and replaced one and the next day the other went funky so....ya it happens
mine would go down but not back up with the rear switch, worked fine from the front switch.
both work 100% again with new switch
Im gonna try replacing the switches. I’ve learned it’s easy to do and you don’t even have to take off the door panels. I found them on Amazon for less than $10.following this as my rear windows are also plagued with this & i’ve been meaning to track down the issue.
thanks for posting. please post if you find the solution.
