Discussed a million times, I know, but does $250 sound like a reasonable amount to have them removed and painted by a body shop professionally?

Take them off yourself...you can drive without them...drop them off and have them painted so they dont charge you labor fees for removal and installationg

i was nervous too but i just took mine off myself and i got them painted my factory white for 65 bucks from a good small paint shop here. to get them off started from the bottom and stuck the handle of a wood spatula under the bottom part and pryed it up and it popped out. then work your way up with the last 3 clips just pulling by hand

You can get them for $150 for smooth ones from www.stylintrucks.com. I don't know if you plan to paint them body color or black but here are mine painted body color to give you an idea.

I have the smooth vents painted high gloss black and IMO thats the best $150 or so anyone could spend on the outside of these trucks.. but $250 is high.. and who gives a shit if you break the old ones.. i threw mine away anyway..
