Having difficulty pinpointing rear differential pinion seal part number.
Using our VIN that gm parts sites bring up two part numbers without explanation.
RA comes up with many Delco parts, some identified by ring gear size but I don't know that information for our Tahoe so it's just confusing.
How to pick the correct one?

just changed out the first batch today, havn't got a chance to cut the filter open yet, but did notice the catch can has noticeable more oil in it. usually just a little bit at the bottom around 3500 miles on M1 but was half full this time on close to 4k miles, took me longer to find the stuff in stock haha. and usually the bottom of my catch can is clean, this time noticeable grit and gunk.

not sure why it would fill the can more, but it definitely got some gunk from somewhere. I've had the vlom off, looked in the passenger valve cover and in the oil pan with a bore scope and was surprised how clean this engine was before. it's definitely possible the drivers side valve cover was gunked up, as every ls I've seen in the junkyard the drivers side looks much worse than the rest of the engine. wonder if it cleaned up the pvc passages and caused it to try and drink more. oil.

I really should pull the passenger side valve cover and take a look.

anyway, I'll cut the filter tomorrow and see how much it caught. they usually come out really clean once the oil wicks out. I have a feeling it's going to be ugly in there.
