I watched a couple of YouTube videos and noticed that someone mentioned that the orange wires could burn up. Under the panel on the driver side by the hood latch. I checked if that was the issue, and it was. So, I spliced the wires and connected them, and it worked for about three weeks. However, today, I checked them again, and they had burnt up again. How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Check the rear air equipment, at the passenger side rear wheel well. That orange supply wire goes to the blower and associated resistor back there. Check to see if they are drawing too many amps and/or general condition.

ive got no idea on a perm fix, but you could put a inline fuse in line there to keep them wires from melting up any more.
I just feel like there has got to be a reason for it to have burnt up again. Thank you for your response!! I will definitely try that!!

Year, make, model? Auto HVAC or manual?

One wonders if the fuse for the rear HVAC has been replaced with a larger value.
Sorry. I should’ve posted that as well. 04 Chevy Tahoe Z71. Both, I am assuming? Has front and rear controls.

Does the front HVAC have a digital display, or does it have two temperature sliders?

I'm not sure how much different the manual control system is, but the RR HVAC is the 30A fuse just to the lower right of the Starter Relay in the diagram.

You can find a wiring diagram here:

Scroll down to the diagram that starts: "Auxiliary HVAC Controls - 3 of 3:"

If it's the manual control, use the links at the top of your browser to change.

Mine has the digital display. The fuse seems to be fine.

A long shot guess ====== How good was that crimp job that you did with that wire? if the crimp was not tight, it is possible that there was arcing going in inside that crimp.
