RE: Dropping the Denali!!

Ok guys, I just got my lowering kit from Tim over at suspension online. My buddy and I are going to install it this week and I will post pics as soon as it is done. I went with the new kits that Tim is selling from McGaughys. The parts that arrived are excellent and top quality. Can't wait to get them on and get this thing low to the ground.

It is the McGaughys front strut relocators and rear coils and shock extenders. It is their new economy package$$$. I am excited and I will make sure to get the photos up. Just put the new Grill Craft grill in and de-badged it today and it looks great so far. I am also wanting to switch out my 24's and go with something different. If anyone has any pics or suggestions, throw them my way and it would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you don't plan on lowering front more then an inch with those strut relocaters, stock shocks have been known to expire early with more then an inch of travel loss

Ok people, we finished the lowering kit today and it looks great. Started to pour rain this afternoon and never got to take the pictures. If weather is nice tomorrow I will get the pics posted. The kit was super easy to install and the ride is outstanding!!!! The kit keeps the factory struts and air suspension and it handles great. I am so excited this mod is done and now for new wheels!!!!!!!!

RE: Drop done and pics up

Alright, the drop is finished and I got the dirt thing cleaned today and took some pictures. Just wanted to say that this new kit from McGaughys is awesome. The strut relocator in front and the rear coil and chock extenders are great and kept the stock ride. This is a superb kit if you are on a budget and want to lower your vehicle. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone. Tim at Suspension online was great to work with and was readily available when I had a quick question on the kit. So now here are some photos of the stock Denali and after the kit was put on.

I installed BOTH of the supplied spacers on the front relocators for the minimum (1") drop. Did you install any or all of the spacers? And how much drop did you get out of the front? Where does your front fender sit off the ground now?

KMel - I know you originally just did the 2" rear. What made you want to do the 1" in the front? Was it not leveled? Also what size tire do you have?

Felix -- These trucks were designed [literally] to have SOME rake (rear door handles are parallel to the ground, but the rear one is set higher than the front; the rear glass slopes back from the front two window lines; etc.). With only the rear lowered, and leveled with the front, it looked too low to me in the rear (like it was sagging). But by raising the rear some with the autolinks, the added air in the shocks was making the ride rough. So, I wanted to drop the front some so that I could lower the rear more and maintain some rake (and improve the ride).

I ran the coil relocator on my 08 sierra for 30k miles and have a buddy still running them over that. They do not ruin your struts. You will be really happy with this kit

It is the Grill Craft grill. It was a easy upgrade and well worth it. It replaces the whole front grill and was a snap to do. I pulled the chrome Denali honey comb grill and replaced it. They don't make one that bolts up to the Denali grill, so you have to buy a Yukon or Yukon Xl grill and cut out the middle and then the new Grill Craft grill bolts in and then just snaps and bolt into place. Took me about an hour to do the whole thing. It is a well made grill and well worth the money. It looks really sharp in person too!!!

I want this grill, too! I want both the upper and lower, but I was hesitant because I had only seen pics of the black one. Looks great! I think I am feeling the itch to buy it soon. Thanks for posting.
