If you don’t have a fully charged battery … no update, first step is to trickle charge your battery, then it works. The range may be providing a false battery level to the ecu or using battery.

I installed the range ra007 a month back, this is the one that piggy backs into the ECM module. Installed on 2026 RST with the 6.2.

Worked good. Now I have a pending SW update. So I read I need to remove the module before I load it. So I go ahead and remove the module and return to stock. Went smooth.

Start truck and the updates are grayed out and it disappeared; before I removed range it would ask me every 5 min to install it. Says “contact dealer” if issue persists.

Drove the car for a day with the range removed still no updates. Also, the start/stop is still eliminated and won’t come back??? Something. Weird going on.

Right now I have the battery unplugged, I’ll leave it like that for an hour and try again.

Anyone else have any range issues?
I just installed a +range RA007 DFM disabler for my 24 Tahoe 5.3. I only drove 15 miles Les so far but it’s different vehicle, feel, response and sound all improved.
Before this,I thought I might have transmission issues, nope it was the dfm. Can’t recommend this enough.

The Range module tells the ecm one or more little white lies about one or more engine sensor outputs.
(If the lies were big enough, drivability would be noticeably altered.)
The ecm determines that one or more conditions are not quite right to allow Half@$$, so it doesn't.
Cylinder Confusion is prevented much the same way - the module lies to the ecm, the ecm believes the lie, which prevents Cylinder Confusion from operating
(except maybe in Vzero mode?)

There is already one undesired effect - you need to unplug it to allow updates / go to the dealership / get an emissions test.
I did not like the apparent difficulty to install/remove the Range RA007 for updates and dealer visits. Then from one post I discovered you only need to lie on your back, slide under the front bumper and reach up for easy install/removal! To make life even easier I put a small 4x6 in front of the drivers front tire and drove the car up. The additional 4 inches made life even easier! An easy process now. However, in the process if installing it I forgot to disconnect the battery and got a CHECK ENGINE! It was easy to fix. I simply left the RA007 installed, disconnected hr battery for 10 minutes and reconnected the battery. The Check Engine light went away and all is fine! Just thought I would pass these 2 tidbits along.
