Does anybody know how to adjust the run timer on the remote start for a 2010 Tahoe? It shuts off after 10 minutes, but I want to set it for 20-30. Anybody know how to do this?

Thanks,
Chip

I use the truck for work and I like to leave it runnin w/the A/C on. Everyday it's 90+ degrees w/90+ percent humidity.

Can the dealer set the timer? I would imagine it's adjustable somehow.

Maybe but I don't know for sure. Doesn't hurt to call and ask

Okay. For anybody who is curious (in the futere), you CANNOT adjust the run timer on the factory remote start. I just got off the phone with Chevy, and they said no, you can't.

No, but you get 2 remote starts before you have to put the key in. So run it for 10 minutes, and then remote start it again and you would have had it running for 20 minutes like you want.

Factory Remote Sucks:

1: No time adjustment
2: No Valet Mode (You can not leave truck running and take key out to lock doors)
3: If you leave your key in the ignition permanently and carry fob to lock doors, the key needs to be halfway out to remote start.
4: Range is horrible (don't know about the advanced upgrade)
5: No option to have accessory power/radio power.

Just a few reasons why I want to get an aftermarket system.

I am not privileged to have heated or cooled seats, do they operate under remote start condtions? Do you have to leave them turned on for them to operate with remote start?

I haven't noticed the cooled seats coming on in high temperatures yet, but the heated seats do come on when it's cold outside, when you remote start it. They turn off after you put the key in, however.

The 2-way from GM is actually pretty good. I can be a good distance from my car and still get control of the car. It turns into a badass tailgate remote as well. You can change the radio station, mute, also it tells you mileage and tire pressure. I know I'm missing one feature (there are 5 icons - tire, radio, speaker, odometer, and something else).

From what I heard it also tells you how much time you have remaining on your remote start before you're supposed to put the key in.

Yeah it does, I just forgot about that. I had the remote but in the trade-in I had to give it back :(

That sucks. How much was the kit? I've been wanting to do it, and i have $175 in PayPal...but I've heard the remote is too big for pockets.

It came with the car. The remote wasn't that fat. It's the thickness of a wallet, fit perfectly on top of my wallet in my pocket

Might have to look into it. I wonder if the dealer has to install it. If not, my brother's friend owns a really nice car electronic store that I could probably get to set it up for me.

I am pretty sure it's required for the dealer to install. It has quite a bit of programming to be done and it'll be a few hours in labor

Hm. Well, I bought the only kit I could find on eBay for $100 shipped. Brand new, so I guess when it comes in I'll get my dad to drop it off at the dealer to get it installed while I'm on vacation. Can't be much bulkier than the new Escalade key fob!

There is a specific kind you need so hopefully you got it right... if you guessed it's a 33% chance ;)

Yeah I got confused with that but I got the right one. It says "For vehicles with Remote Keyless Entry and Engine Start; with power liftgate"...and that sounds like my vehicle!
