Question about wheels

If I buy new wheels, how do I make sure the tire pressure monitor still works? I know there are pressure sensors in my stock wheels but I don't know how they hook up or mount to the wheel.

some new wheels come with a extra port ? or plug in for the air sensors at least my 24's did. mine you had to roll at least 2 blocks before it re-calibrated sensor
