I'm going to mount my hi lift to my defender rack ...what do you guys think if I plasti-dipped the whole thing or maybe even undercoated it?

plasti-dip would come right off with use. i'd be worried about undercoating gumming up the mechanisms or possibly being too thick. if you're worried about it that much maybe spray on some rust proofing or converting paint. i have a roof rack on the way as well. i just plan on the neoprene sleeve and calling it good. not sure if the one pictured below would work with roof rack mounts if you wanted to try that. i'm going to use the one that looks like a boot

bringing back a old thread I started, but was curious if anyone else is running the hi-lift mount for the defender rack, and if so, how are they locking their lift to the mount?

Thanks.
