I have an upholstery guy who's going to redo the front bucket seats, but I have to find the foam.

All of the online sources use PN 12473282, however, that's not what the licensed part system shows. That shows PN 12478890 -- discontinued.

Anyone know if 12473282 will work?

Have you looked on The Seat Shop’s website? They sell the foam, heater elements and covers

They do, but not the passenger side foam. Driver side is there, using the GM parts number and at nearly twice the price of the GM online parts places.

1 phone call to any gm dealer parts dept will give you the correct part number or updated one.So no guessing or ordering the wrong part comes in to play.

Also, in 2000 there were 2 models as I’m sure you probably know- the carryover style and the new style which looks like the 2001-up. If yours is the new style I only see the 12473382 listed. If you go to GM Parts Giant you can enter your VIN and look up parts. Here’s a link to the 2000 Tahoe new style cushion.

Thanks, looks like PN 12473282 does not fit my Yukon. On to aftermarket....

Thanks much! Unfortunately, that one is discontinued, too. Can't find it online or at my local dealer. Appreciate the help :)

So did you ask the dealer if their was an updated part number for your seat.

You know, he said he was checking for a new number and then found the "discontinued" message I found everywhere so I didn't follow closely enough. No NOS available either.

I'll call again later today and see if I can get the new number. Not very hopeful as I'm getting the same story everywhere. And my wife heard this discussion and now it'll be stuck in her head that the passenger seat still has the original foam...

So i called my guy at a gm dealer that is the right part number and yes discontinued. He put the part on nation locator none avail in the world. So junk yard ebay or upholstery shop is all you got left.I would go junk yard first most of the passenger seats are never sat in much anyway.

You never mentioned why you’re replacing that foam. It’s not often that the passenger side wears too much, that’s probably why the aftermarket companies don’t offer them. But if it’s the outside bolster that’s sagging you can add some foam in that area using spray glue to hold it in place. Or go to a wrecking yard like others mentioned. If you were replacing it just because you wanted new, I guess you’re out of luck.

^^^ THIS. I'd hit the wrecking yard and pull one from a good seat, or buy the whole passenger seat. So many of the passenger seats are not used much. Should be easy enough to find one in decent shape.
