Overhead console

I went to the junkyard today and bought an overhead console for 10 bucks. My truck was a base model so it didnt have one. I took it all apart and painted part of it white and wrapped the rest in suede... just thought you guys would like....

sweet! i just picked one up also for $10. was the install pretty easy? any tips as i'm about to do this later this week.

yeah its pretty easy to install. If you pull down your dome light you will find that there is extra wiring . just unravel it and feed it up to the front. then trim 2 holes. 1 where the rear of the console goes for the tabs, and on where the front of the console goes, for the screw. then plug the wires in for the map lights.

where did you get the material to cover it? mine was tan and i took it off cuz my interior is grey and id like to make it match

personally i dont like the look of that one. i just finished up yesterday installing my overhead console (same as the op's) and it looks sooooooo nice. the nice thing about factory parts is they actually look like they belong, and not some afterthought.
