A very long time ago a buddy wired up these charcoal leather seats out of an 02 avalanche in my 01 tahoe. I thought all he had to do was change each plug end at the body. Worked great for like 10 years but I unplugged the driver seat to deep clean the vehicle for sale. I have plugged it back in and now all 6 way. lumber functions work but the seat will not move forward with the switch. It will only move backwards. When 2 different 2002 drivers switches are connected they both will only get a clicking noise and no function from the motor to go forward back always works. Motors work fine forward and backwards when power is applied direct to them. Tried 2 different switches same thing.
So after looking at the seat harness when buddy wired it up it wasnt just a simple splicing of a different 2 wire plug. He also screwed with the pins from a plug im not using on the seat harness. (Pictured beside the switch for the seat taken, yes with a potato)
I don't like heated seats so I never connected the plug for that. I can now see he took that plug and depinned all the powers 3 and 2 grounds and then soldered the 3 power pins together and soldered the 2 ground pins together. I'm assuming to get the 6 way power seats to work. I broke the pins apart that buddy soldered incase his joint was bad and they are now just twisted in pic. Keeping in mind 2002 seats are unique to heated seat funnctioning different then other years. Sorry for the novel but this is so frustrating and would really appreciate anyone's help ?
Seriously ! Please ! ( I won't get into separating the top part of these seats from it's base by cutting the brass pin that's meant to make it impossible to do that and then putting it all back together as I hv now done with a junkyard seat dooo)
