Dont waste money on pulley or TB mods, untill you have done every thing you can and are still looking for alil more. The $ per HP gain is just not worth it.

Your next step is cam/springs and a converter.

Cheapest is a Z06 cam and the yellow behive springs that go with it along with the 7.3 or 7.4 pushrods. forgot which atm, its spammed all over the truck sites. This cam is the stock cam in the vettes, it has silky smooth idle but makes gobs of power over the truck cam you currently have. Noone but you will know its in there.
Total cost for those 250 MAX used.. most the time the springs sell for 20-40$ used, considering they can be bought for 55$ + shipping new..
Cam usually runs 100-150.
Look to LS1tec, LS1truck and performance trucks.net for these mods.
Guys over there are dumping them everyday.

You will notice a nice improvement from them, Yess you must run the yellow springs, and you can change them with heads on the motor.

Next step is a re-stalled Trailblazer Inline 6 torque convertor.
Can be bought new from Circle D for aprox 350-400$
Or new for aprox 150$ and re stalled by your choice of shop..
Circle D's I6 convertor flashes around 2800-3000 depending on motor config and what you tell them when you order it.
You can tow all day on it aswell.
Peep this.

Pop those in before you get your tune and you will be Realy happy!
You are probly already beyond acceptable injector duty cycle. start looking for the 8.1 liter injectors.

Beyond that is heads (notice these heads already have the springs you need., gears and bigger cam.
Take a look at your heads, passenger side one, right at front below valve cover will be a embossed number, 243, 317, etc. post it up here
Circle D is having 5% off BF sale...

A setup to go with a much larger cam, its always better to plan ahead with valve springs, then having to swap them twice.

This will take ya from a 5.3 to a 5.7 LS1

6.0 LQ4 pull out

Vinci Trucker cam and comp springs

Winner winner chicken dinner!

Your in cali so it might be worth your trip driving up to the bay area, there was a guy on craigslist selling a nice whipple setup for $2500, he had it listed awhile so might be able to talk that down

Ezdaar pretty much summed it up, but I did want to add that for the $ vs. HP ratio, a cam swap will yield very good gains. Especially if you install yourself. I highly recommend

the tahoe has 213k miles on it, so i didnt wanna do anything internal like that until i get the engine rebuilt or swapped out, and that wouldnt be until this one starts acting up, or goes out altogether, but its tight as a drum! all highway miles and full synthetic its whole life.

Well you are probably about at your limits before you need to gon into the engine for more HP. Only external bolt-ons really left would be a blower kit as as already mentioned or intake manifold & 90-100mm TB.

efans are too expensive. theyre like $500 at least. not worth it for just a few hp

Not sure where you are looking at for efans but if that's all you are finding, you are not look in the right places!! I bought my efans off of Ebay for $150 shipped from an '06 truck and I'm not the only one who's found them that cheap! If you want some help finding a good deal on one, let me know!! I've found a few great deals on a complete efan setup for a few guys on here as well as a few local friends of mine and don't mind help you find one either!! I love my electric fans!

i actually ordered a set off amazon the other day for $145.

http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-620-65...=UTF8&coliid=I7MTT6W6D1V2S&colid=N1TZZKYYETEC

when i had looked before, google just turned up some Flexalite ones that were like $500. like these:

http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts/v...flexalitef21282-.aspx?scid=FROOGLE&ST_SRC=AFF

i was now looking into performance intake manifolds and TBs. anywhere i can get those for cheap? are the 90mm TB's worth it? edelbrock has the victory series 90mm. ive seen other brands too. r they worth it with what i have on my tahoe?

If you want to spend that kind of money. dont waste time on a intake manifold or TB.

Go straight to some Full roller rockers.
If you are 1.5 go 1.6. if you are 1.7 go 1.8.

You gain more valve lift and gain Alot more power than a intake wich will off balance your induction and exhaust systems...
Causing a loss in bottomend but gaining up top.
Going up on rocker ratio gets you everything..

But why do the low HP vs $ gains sutch as rockers and intake.. do a cam and converter swap for the real gains..
