Oil percentage has - - - % any idea's

Hi all , just had to purchase a refurbished dash cluster , just done an oil change and I can't reset the % as it has - - -% no numbers just the 3 dashes

Any ideas on this ? Have tryed searching but can't find any thing .

I think I've read about this when people swap out the clusters, but I'm not 100% sure.

A higher-end scanner might show if the PID gives a value for oil life, and if it's just an issue in the cluster.

EDIT: there is a PID for the oil life in the Torque Pro app, so if you have a modern OBD dongle and that $5 app it may show it.
