i use synthetic oil- i have about 7,000 miles and this will be my second oil change-) i drive maybe 3500-400 miles a year so i only change it about once per year and now is the time) i did a search for oil filter and didnt really get what i wanted.

Does anyone have a recommendation on an oil filter for a 2010 denali-- i used a top of the line one from an auto parts store, but was just wondering if anyone had any reason to use a certain kind of filter like a K&N etc.

    thanks

If the AC Delco is good enough to cover the power train warranty requirements, why look anywhere else? JMO

thats a good point, but since i dont drive that much, and if a better filter is only a few dollars more, then i figure why not-- - i think i have a high end ac delco on now

Wix -- because no NASCAR team has ever blown an engine because one of their filters failed.

Yet, every NASCAR car has a Wix sticker, and the contract states they are the filter supplier.

I'm biased. Who isn't? I just happen to know that Wix is one of, if not the, best filters you can get. I also happen to work at an auto parts store that has its ASE certification thanks to my manager. He's been in the business for 52 years, so I pretty much take what he says as truth.

I'm a distributor, the guy that supplies parts to the repair shops. Wix are preferred 5:1 to the AcDelcos. The Wix are just better filters. Don't even get me started on FRAM... Absolute trash.

    what number?

remember the ole SCB had short & tall filters in different applications.

i think the LSx engine family should have a taller filter, but have not found one.

i "think" a bigger filter equals less restriction, and better filtering, and just a bit more oil capacity.

is there a tall oil filter for our trucks?
