Offline maps keep getting deleted

yep that's when I use a Garmin, you can't put that kind of reliability on google, learned that a long long time ago
I don't actually think it is a Google issue...
I can do the exact same thing on Google Maps installed on my iPhone, and guess what...the maps stay...for a year; just like google says.
My gut says it is GM/OnStar that auto expires the maps after 3 days, so you have to keep a data plan...but I don't know this to be a fact, it is just a guess.

Same here, my Garmin always works. From what I understand Google deletes the offline maps because they are constantly updating businesses on their maps and want to force the view of those businesses on everyone. Started out at 30 day deletes then went to 15 days and now looks like just a few days when they delete your offline maps. I don't use Google maps anymore for trips with waypoints along the way as Google Maps is not reliable.
