Hello, I recently purchased a certified pre owned 2021 yukon denali and have a few questions.

In the instrument panel there is a small white sign that should show the posted speed limit. Mine just is blank. I have checked the box in the settings menu but still not working. What am I doing wrong?

Also what start stop harness should I buy to eliminate the start stop function without causing any other problems.
Thanks

Full transparency. I'm not conversant on your model year.

Regarding your blank speed limit icon, my guess is that your truck is not receiving GPS information. I 'think' that is typically supplied by OnStar. Do you have an active subscription to OnStar?

I had to buy a subscription to OnStar to receive posted speed limits on my screen. The Dealers use to give a trial offer to OnStar with all the goodies. Maybe check with them or OnStar may offer the trial as well.

When I use CarPlay and Google maps the speed limit shows up in the white box. I don't have OnStar.

@Steveo22

You'll need an OnStar subscription to make the speed signs show accurate.

As for your second question: Two options I would recommend. The Range DFM disabler, RA007 module. It's a two-fold module. Turns off Auto-Start Stop and also Disables DFM.

They also have recently released a new DFM PRO, RA010 module, that adds a few more feature, a pedal booster, and the ability to read/clear DTC's. It's backordered right now tho.

I have the RA007 on my 2021 Yukon 5.3L and it works great. No complaints. Either module listed above will work with 5.3 or 6.2 engines.

Here's an overview video I made that shows the installation procedure

We bought a used 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L about 3yrs ago w/49K miles. Put in the Auto Stop Eliminator - https://www.autostopeliminator.com/?country=US Easy DIY install behind the drivers side dash and works perfectly. Nothing negative to say about the DFM disabler from what I've read, but it's a little more involved to install/deal with and decided to just leave things alone in that regard. Up to 72K miles now and all is running smoothly.

The onboard GMC navigation works OK without Onstar - but no good to find camping places (just not listed in the database) so we mostly use Apple Car Play -> iPhone -> Google for navigation when exploring.

We activated OnStar for a couple of years thinking the onboard WiFi + Data would let passengers do full speed youtube/internet while driving and enable wifi while camping in remote places. Turned out to be worthless - didn't work most of the time, even when driving along interstates that should have good signal?. Recently cancelled OnStar. Starlink works much better (all around) for us and with the new mini w/roam there's a viable alternative.

Speed signs have their use but... we find them wrong A LOT here in Oregon. Many roads have been downgraded and you can find yourself doing 55mph in a (newly) downgraded 45mph zone. I'm guessing 'my car said 55mph' won't work when you get a ticket.

We tow a 5500lb trailer / camp / boondock / explore 'off-road' a bit... Fantastic rig! Nice engine growl/purr on startup! Love it!!

Hope you enjoy as well :)
