new torsion keys

im looking to get new torsion keys to give the front of my truck some lift.

before you buy, try cranking up your STOCK keys. There is a thread in the tech section that will help

i did read that thread. and i considered cranking mine

i was just trying to avoid the additional wear on the suspension

Tell me if I'm wrong but just replacing the keys is going to have the same affect on the suspension as cranking your bars. All the new keys are going to do is just twist the torsion a little further.

correct. Adding lift by cranking the keys or adding keys that are indexed differently is the exact same thing.

If you want elevation without wear, get a body lift and do not run larger tires.

what is meant by a different "index"?

does that mean the hex heads are different sizes on the ends or can i buy 3/4 ton bars and use 3/4 ton keys?
