When you say its "going into limp mode", what do you actually mean? Check engine light flashing? Or is it on steadily? Does the instrument cluster readout say "reduced engine power mode"?

There is a known issue with the TB wires right where they connect to the TB. The wires inside the plastic jacket can break and although they look fine on a visual inspection the copper wiring inside can have a break. You should replace the pigtail and solder the wires together and use heat shrink so they don’t corrode, just in case. There is a TSB on it but I can’t find it. Amazon or most auto parts stores have the pigtails. Here’s a link to a discussion on it. If you search on TYF you can also find mention of it.

Also check your grounds. Especially the driver's side frame, right near the running board. A known issue, especially for guys in the rust belt.

Let's back up. What made you replace the throttle body? What brand part did you use?

Electrical noise? Did you replace 1 wire at a time? Since they're all white wires--not color coded. What brand tb did you get?

Check the seller on Amazon even if it says it's an ac delco. A lot of fakes out there. Personally I would only buy online from rockauto or a gm website. I'd rather pay more then be ticked off when the new part doesn't work or work as advertised.
