Hello everyone,

I would like to introduce myself - My name is Bryan, from Southwestern Ontario Canada - Niagara Falls area - borders Buffalo, NY and Niagara Falls, NY.

My ride is a 2006 GMC Yukon XL - with a recent RC 6" lift and Zone 3" body lift. Rims are 2017 20" Black GMC truck rims on 35x 12.5x 20 BF KO2's.

The gears are still factory 3.42's with plans to re-gear in the fall.

Gears:

During our local lock down V 1, 2 & 3... I did do much reading on this topic. I am leaning towards 4.56's - I have the 4l60e that I need to keep happy. I tow my camper trailer - 16' tandem axle High Wall.. it goes down the road around 4100lbs loaded.

I have towed it for a few years now with the small 33" tall tire on the factory 17'S..

a whole lot of worry and work for two or three outtings. This is a DD and I work 10 minutes from my house. Highway is the odd trip...

IMO, that is gonna be too deep a gear. Your mpg will suffer while you have great take off from a stop. Day to day driving is better suited with the 4.10 gear and still have decent get up and go from stop and for towing. You are not running a very tall tire anyway. If you go bigger on the tires and is hardly ever driven on the highway, then I could get behind the 4.56 gear.

Again, IMO

In your shoes I’d do 4.56. Considering the trailer.

If long trips sans trailer were frequent and you cared about economy then 4.10.
