New Headlights

I am thinking about replacing my headlights being mine are all fogged up. I saw some Spyder Halos on CarID but it looks like Id have to wire them up instead of just plugging in. Is this true? If so can anyone recommend some plug and play headlights that look nicer than stock? If not Im just gonna go with stock.

Also, even though this is exterior Im gonna ask here if 60Lm LED for the interior is too much or bad in any way. Im wanting to replace map and all dome lights with them.

Please don't do the cheap projector eBay headlights. You'll hate the output. You can get all chrome or black with the interior smoked...

ive heard such bad things about spyder... but if your retrofitting it go for it!

Or you could just clean up your factory headlights with a 3m kit... or just wetsand/polish/seal like I did.

yeah I would not spend the money on aftermarket projectors unless your doing a retrofit. Just get some new housing. I definitely like the stock one with the smoked turn signal

Does it matter which for the interior lights? 50lm or 60lm?

Seems like it would be a total pain in the rear to do all that ROFL. I'm not good when it comes to cars. I don't have the patience. I had more when I was younger but I didn't have much then when things didn't go my way lol. There were so many of the old copper plugs thrown I lost count. That number 8 on my old camaro was a pain.

LOL. Now if replacing the Dash was cheap Id probably do that instead. Im seriously thinking about covering it.

No doubt, hand cramps and all and just when you thought it was threaded....it fell out lol. After about the second or third time the plug went flying across the yard. But ya know what? Id love to have my old 79 back. I loved that car. It was my baby. Probably one of the reasons Ive never owned a Ford too. Being a 92 Explorer is what hit her.

The "fog over" is the plastic pitting. ALL plastic headlights will do this because of the cleaners used, UV exposure, etc.

The way to stop it, is take a brand new set of headlights, or headlights that have been cleaned, and have an auto body shop clear coat over them. You need to use automotive clear because of the UV protection and not a regular rattle can clear.

less than $40.

Give them the headlights, tell them to clear them over the next time they are putting a clear coat on a car they're fixing. Will take them about 5 min to clear and then 15-20 to wet sand. They won't have to mix clear or clean gun for just your stuff because it's already in use for another project they are billing that to.


The shop close to me (that I always use) charges $100 to fix messed up ones. That's sanding down the bad stuff, clearing, and wet sanding.
