What head unit are people installing that works with their factory volume and seek control buttons on their steering wheel?

Thanks in advance!

Ez Pz way to get started if by going to the Crutchfield site and entering your vehicle info.

I believe there’s a comparison guide for features that allow steering wheel controls. I’m pretty sure you’ll find the other features incorporated into an aftermarket swap you didn’t know are affected too.

Once you’ve got the ALL the important data you can shop it for the best price or pull the trigger and dump all the responsibilities to an installer so issues in the future aren’t on your dime.

I second petethepug's advice. Crutchfield has a great site where you can compare different head units and installation options to retain factory features. As for purchasing, they are not always the cheapest but their service and support is top notch. They will talk with you before and/or after the purchase to help you out.

I would recommend something late model with wireless android and apple, both kenwood and pioneer have wireless units, very convenient and ahead of anything the auto makers are putting in even today.

Agreed. I just put in (yesterday) a nice Pioneer HU with the swc (steering wheel control) module. Bought it from Crutchfield. Paid about $25 more, but it was plug and play. Everything works as it should, and now I have Bluetooth, Apple car play, a backup camera, and a bunch of shit I haven’t even tried out yet! Massive improvement from the factory Bose unit. 14bc328dd0adcb055eb98c9184c6ad80.jpg72d93bb5ff352fb8548d36bd8a3a4b87.jpgac8ed3e3f3264c95596802196e8b700f.jpge1bd37a42f546203b8d0794ed174192d.jpgdb33260cddedbd6caf52d00b9024dc11.jpg48c20bb79cb2227e479a6a4f78804768.jpg

What @Doubeleive said- I highly recommend WIRELESS CarPlay /Android Auto as opposed to the older or more common units that need to have the phone plugged in to the HU. You’ll have to look a bit harder but they’re out there, and even the newest vehicles don’t have this from the factory unless it’s a BMW or a few others. It’s nice to keep your phone in your pocket and connect wirelessly for these features as opposed to just having Bluetooth music. For connectivity I love the Maestro stuff. You hook it to your laptop or whatever and choose vehicle options and pre program it.

you can have it hooked up to switch the camera on when desired, also idatalink should be able to custom program a camera on function for you if you utilize the maestro rr, you can always call them and ask.
