you can try the sensor but usually it ends up being the cat anyway, try swapping to the other side and see if it does the same thing

at no charge
to make sure its not damaged that will be done on Friday

its a denso sensor

also the weld might be cracked before the sensor #1 (pre cat) as well ugh
at lest it does not look like a good weld like the rest of it mis-shapen

Man - That is bad news. You seemed to be really enjoying your vehicle and were very proud of it.
I do have a question. Who ruined your engine?

Burnt oil? Do tell. How did your engine burn it’s oil without turning it into exhaust smoke?

pepboys did, the three stooges they forgot to tighten the oil filter it was very loose looks like the oil sprayed out while on the highway

the oil is burnt :(
see how dirty it is
that means it ran low and overheated the oil
now the VVT cam system knocks on a cold start.. it never did this
before i was able to get 4,000 before it even got a speck of dirt in it..

Does your oil smell burnt? I doubt it. Your engine would have to have really overheated to burn the oil in the crankcase. That picture doesn’t mean sh*t.

Did your engine temp light come on?

Did your oil pressure drop and give you a warning on your dash?

If not, I agree with Mark in that I don’t think you burned your oil.

How much oil came out when you drained it?

What kind of oil did you have Pep Boys put in? I remember you said you bought out all the Mobile 1 that O’Riellys had a while back. Is that what you had put in?

Sorry to learn of this Brent. Have you tried running some clean oil through system with a new filter (making sure they didn't leave o-ring behind)? That might get the VVT to behave again. Might have to do a couple drain and fills.
