Hello all. I'm new to the forum. Just recently purchased a used 2008 Tahoe PPV. While installing a CAI, I noticed a wire harness hanging loose on the passenger side, behind the passenger headlight assembly. I cannot figure out what it is for. I've Googled and searched this forum with no luck.

It is a 5-wire harness with part number PA6-GB20-GF10, which seems to be a common Delphi wire connector. The wires are yellow, black, purple, brown, and I don't recall the last color.

Note that I've also got the battery pulled out atm as the one in the truck was shot, so I'm waiting for the replacement to arrive. (i.e. I cannot test for power when I turn on the headlights, etc.)

I've attached 2 pics (sorry for flash over exposure). If anyone could tell me what this is, it would be much appreciated. I hate to leave this thing hanging if it is supposed to be connected to something.

Hi and welcome.

PPVs are a little difficult to pinpoint because they have stuff that regular SUVs don't have and lack a lot of stuff that regular SUVs do have. So it's not surprising to find harnesses that may have been used for LE lights for example.

Not sure what that specific one is without actually being there in person but maybe someone else knows. You could also try to find the PPV electrical schematics through alldatadiy.com if they issue them for PPV/SSV vehicles.

Or you can just stop by your local Chevy dealer and ask one of the service guys. :)

Thanks. I checked the site you mentioned but it appears to be pay-for-info site. :(

I don't think it's from a LE equip attachment. I checked the PPV after-market wire diagrams from GM and it does not seem to conform to any of them.

I may take your advice and stop by a chevy dealership to ask someone there. Thanks tho. :)

I bet it's the connector for the MAF sensor on the intake tube. Don't know how your truck is working well without it. The seller may have pulled it to cover up a CEL light.

That's a good guess.

But the OP installed the CAI not the previous owner ... that seems to be the sort of thing he would have noticed unplugging while doing so.

Plus wouldn't not having that plugged in trigger a dash message?

That is true. But it may have been unplugged before he got it since it is new to him.

There was a time I left mine unplugged and had no issues until i realized it a few minutes later when my service suspension light turned on (weird huh).
That is the only possible connector I can think of.
He just may have unplugged it and not realized it.
