Its been along time since i bought subs. With all the sub woofer companies and and different models how do you pick the right one for the right price? I listen to almost every type of music, country, rock, hip hop and the occasional metal. So whats the best bang for the buck? What would you recommend for the money on a sub or subs? Also if you could tell me why you like them so much and box you recommend for them... also im not looking for competition subs. Thanks in advance..

unknown at this time.
I have used Polk Audio all my life in home and car audio. short of home systems where one channel has a tower with four tweeters I have not been happy with anything else.
I currently have 2 MM1040 svc in a sealed box under rear seat. They were $100 each.

Ive always used kicker.. because i like the sound, I've never had any of them fail, even the cheep kickers are still pretty good quality for everyday sound. The amps are tested for over there wattage and have the proof of it in the box when you buy them. I've tried MTX and couple other brand MTX last awhile a couple years. but nothing I've had has out preformed the kickers IMO.. if you want a sharp punch try 10s, 12 will give you that bass tone, but start to get more deeper anything more than that and your getting into super bass and without the mid and lows to back it up its just basically going to drowned out the rest, unless you get it tuned just right. all the kicker amps come with a bass knob to adjust the bass but all songs are different believe it or not country will a lot of times out bass a hip hop song.. at the same settings.. so it helps to have a knob to quick adult incase you change genres but thats just my opinion on all of them.. i just wouldn't go with a cheep set up.. name brand will almost always perform better and have better resell..

those sundown 8's look badass. im doing a bunch of research on them right now and havent found anything bad about them.. for the price they are very comparable.. with an 8 you can get the real crisp rock beat but form the looks of it they do go pretty low for country and hip hop.
i used to mess with people back in the day when they were showing off their systems with hip hop, i would turn on country and get more bass. it used to trip people all up...

im not in a hurry and open to more opinions.....

So Jacob-Owner of Sundown Audio.....and Nick-Owner of Stereo Integrity got together and started a obsidian. they are under 150 shipped.. they are even coming out with an 18...
i dont know why but these lil sundown 8's are mind boggling. now this is no way anything official but the 1 8" is causing this much rattle...

Honestly i dont know where you would be able to find them in your area but the best subs i have ever run were the american bass dx 10's and it really all depends on what sound your looking for with what kind of box you run. if your looking for deep rumbling bass i would go with a slot ported box but if your looking for a sharper pounding bass you would wanna go for a sealed box if u have any questions u can always drop me a message i own Titan Custom Car Audio here in maine

kicker all the way. i have one 15" L5 modified with an L7 coil running 935 watts rms on a 2 ohm load. 6.52 cubic foot box tuned to 37.5 hertz. hits real hard. you can feel your hair move.

for mids and highs i have four sets of kicker components w/ a four channel amp to power 'em and kicker 4x10's in the far rear powered by the radio.

well balanced system. hits right around 127-128 db at 80% capacity. i love setting car alarms off when i drive into parking lots. and circle k window vibrations are also funny too. has everybody inside looking like "what the f@#%! is that"?

oh yeah cost less than 800$ for everything if you know where to look.
