Well for those that care, I went to a local shop today called Xtreme Custom Car Audio. Then we talk about how I should be breaking in my new subs. Well he hops in my truck and he blares it (is this a good idea with an amp thats pushing more rms than these subs combined?)
If that's how they break in new subs, they're foolish and not doing you any favors. Go elsewhere. Or better yet, contact the sub manufacturer and ask them what they recommend for break in procedure.
on most subs there isnt a break in period its just a myth play them when you get them and pound..i put 2 18" FI BTLS in my hoe with 2000rms to each and went to town very loud and flexing the shit outta my truck as long as you have it tuned and there is no clipping and clean power to your subs and mids n highs you will be fine....
that's the way to do it...break in is for optimal SQ and alignments.everyone hears different i guess i got told from the forums on FI scott and nick said that its a myth and put them in and pound ......everyones got a different way
