I used a Makita 5'' palm sander, 800-1200 grit...it's a great little sander

I finally got the Hoe painted with herculiner after a miserable misty cloudy morning...It took 2 full gallons to cover the Tahoe with 2 coats...I decided to add a little contrast by spray paintinging the roof rack, tow mirrors and door handles gloss black

Here's after 1 coat

1 coat on the trim pieces since I didn't buy enough paint as usual lol and the Tahoe after 2 coats

All done and looking awesome imho...according to my nosey neighbors I used the wrong paint lmao...I told them all the same thing, opinions are like assholes...everybodys' got one!

Paint is still a little wet in these pics...should look better in 24 hours...if it don't rain!

Thanks brother, it was a lot of hard work in this ****** humid weather today but the final look made it all worth it. Hopefully next weekend(weather permitting) I can give all the trim pieces another shot of gloss black

Definitely won't be able to scratch that paint job! How'd you apply it? Brush? Not supposed to rain until Tuesday / Wednesday.

Have relatives on 4th Ave in Bay Ridge near the Verrazano Bridge..Sound exactly like something they would say..Looks perfect IMHO!!

Man, I think you're going to lose 3 mpg with them rough sides, kinda like a fouled hull on a boat! Looks cool and certainly durable.

Thinking about doing this to the bottom part of my doors and my fender flares (possibly in maroon) if I tape it off, then when should I remove the tape?

If it was me, I'd remove the tape once the liner was applied. I think if you wait until it dries, it'll dry on the tape and will Peel when you try to take the tape off. Imo.

The method is the same with plastidip, cool. I figured as much, just wanted to double-check.

I used a 4'' roller to apply it and a brush in the hard to reach areas...should be 100% dry by then
