For gears I would say 4:11's and for the supercharger Whipple makes some good stuff, 7 to 8 psi wouldn't be ******* the engine but I wouldn't go much over that on stock top and bottom end.

Ive been wanting to get more juice out of my 98 yukon but I dont know how much is in these 350's?

Im more familiar with the IV Gen LS based engines. I think a 6.0 from a 2003+ HD truck would be a great platform.

How many miles does your 350 have? If your gonna keep it and boost it, I think you should beef up the internals.

I run the HT383, runs strong. That with some 410 or 456 gears and you'll be ok. Or get a hopped up crate 350.

it currently has 95000 on it and bone stock...whhat im seein is maybe going with the ht383 that the other guys posted about but im still doing research...can i jus take my stock manifold and keep it fuel injected with the stock injectors or would that jus kill it(not get enough fuel)

There are lots of guys running 11s on Vortec headed 350s. They can be a pretty strong running engine.

What year is that engine?? Your 97 is Vortec headed with a roller cam. If that is older you may or may not have the same base stuff you are pulling ... know what I mean??

I assume you mean bigger crank = stroker. Yes you will need a tune for that. The stock cams in these engines were pretty tame, even the LQ9 cam specs aren't all that impressive. You can get a higher lift and duration cam and a tune and make alot more power. :D

I had planned out a TBI engine based on a Votec headed 355 roller. I was told an LT4 hot cam (218/228 .492 lift) would be about the max the TBI computer could handle. I have a 214/224 cam in my 80 Camaro with a carb and that was easy to tune. Your 97 is a different setup PCM so ... I would think an LT4 cam would be no issue at all for you.

The LQ9 cam is 196/207 .479/.467 116-1. Found that on the internet.

Dissemable the vortec block and have it worked into a 383. Have the heads rebuilt, and if your camming then make sure you get propper rocker arms, spring and retainers.

You can start modding your 350 with simple bolts ons as they will bolt up the 383. If you going 5.3 or 6.0 don't bother AT ALL! Are you installing the motor yourself? LS based engine swaps are not as easy as your think.

People on the boards are boosted with 350 vortec. Hopefully I will be by mid summer just waiitng on parts and time.

yeah im gonna do it all myself besides machine work i dont no that much about it yet...i think im gonna stay away from changing bore size unless i have to cuz the motor i have rite now run bit needs a head job and its jus layin aroung so i think im gonna buy a fully balanced rotating assembly and then maybe put a mild cam in it i dont want so much power im gonna eat trannys ive put enouggh of them in i mite go with a mild cam and i also have a extra computer layin around also so im gonna send it in some time and have a black bear tune i beleive im still doin some research so if u have any advice thro it out there lol

Really no sense in NOT boring ... you want to to make sure it's true and solid.

Your eating tranny's b/c you need to update your drivetrain. Its not all motor ya know. Once you start generating more HP & TQ you need to get that to the rear and then the ground. This causes more stress on the parts to make it happen. You must upgrade appropiate areas to make sure it all gets to the ground efficiently. Don;t forget our Hoes aren't young some time and weather also hinder certain parts. As stuff breaks and wears I replace it...If I can upgrade for shit sure I will!
