just clean the surfaces. you dont want vaseline up there either. can you imagine the heat coming through the windshield baking that vaseline?

I usedthe alcohol to clean both areas and put it back up. I dont drive the truck much opting for the camaro but I hope it works.

i dont know the model number, but it was last years model, not the real slim one, but its a touch screen so i don have to take it out

I just screwed the base into my tray.

BTW: if you don't want to drill, they make a version that sits in the cup holders.
