I just did a folding motor rebuild with gears and motors from gruvenparts.com. The first rebulild went great and after cleaning out the power adjustment motor and gears, I basically have a brand new mirror!

I did the second one and am running into some issues. I noticed that it was just a little bit slower than the first one. Maybe takes just over full second to fold in and out. And, after folding in and out three or four times, it stops. I can let it sit for a few minutes and it will go back to working three to four times before stopping again.

There was zero rust on the housing. I did clean some old grease out and regreased. When it originally went slower, I figured that I may have had too much grease so I disassembled and cleaned it out but no change. I'm thinking about swapping motors the the one that works to see if it might be the motor. I also have another housing that I may swap over too, although there is some rust on that one.

Anyone know what might be going on?

I rebuilt my passenger mirror motor a couple of years ago with the Gruven gear and it occasionally doesn't open. If I close then hit the switch again, it almost always works. No idea why but I don't have the energy to tear into it again.
