I'm the only one to say it: little...just cuz of where you live. Try finding a set of nnbs tahoe 20s and sell the denali 17s to almost break even

Max, I could'nt agree w/you more! Bcuz I have 305/22 they are flush w/my fenders. Therefor I only have about 2" of travel now that the drop is set. If I get the nnbs 20's, will the tires still be able to travel INSIDE the fenders?

Blizzard I might think about selling those 17's 2 U. I might sell the BIGS also.
Anyone interested? :)

Mine tucked inside with a 2/4 and 3/5 but the 275/55s rubbed when I dropped it 5" in front.

I cant believe this is really a question.. "which looks better.. my rims with plenty of quality rubber on them that would probably be fine for winter anyway.. or my stock wheels?"

Here is a clue.. if the stock wheels looked better.. this forum wouldnt exist

Now THIS i agree with.. or some stock nnbs 22s.

I lived in upper WA state.. i remember snow.. but still dont fully grasp the need for winter wheels

That has NOTHING to do with rim size and everything to do with offset... I have 305/30/24s and travel? i can go from 3 inches OVER stock to 3 inches from dirt. i have like a foot of travel

I understand offset, and travel. Can your truck travel the 12" you are talking about while you are driving it or sitting in the driveway with the bags let out? I'm interested in having the wheels be able to move up and down, while I'm driving, without ******* anything up. I'm not able to do that w/my current 22s, with the offset that they have. Soooo I'm trying to do something about it. My truck is a DD. I haul my kids and all their stuff so I need function as well as form.

Yea i can drive from 100% up to 99% down.. can drive and steer at 99% drop... i will occasionally (to the wifes dismay) pretty much hop it down the road (no it doesnt leave the ground but you get the point)

I just moved to tampa and we packed the truck so heavy my wife had to sit on the center console...AND we had stuff on the roof..

So yes.. i have a foot of drivable travel.

You can run 22s with good rubber at 2/4 or even 3/5 with very few mods and have as much as or more travel than stock

a 2/4 drop with a free travel mod, good shocks,(flip the top bolts) and 22s with the right offset on a decent tire will still leave you with about 4-5 inches of immediate drop. And obviously plenty of up travel.

If youre hitting shit that you need more than 5inches of low end travel on .. you should stop doing like blizzard and jumping your truck lol

yea.. looking at your 22s im sure , i , couldnt even tuck them.. its all about the offset.... sell the 22s and get a proper offset.. and you will be riding on stock like travel again

When I got this set, I wasn't sure how they would tuck. The offset is 30 or 31, which works for this truck. Until you want to go lower. I think even some 285s would have been OK w/9" rims and the same offset. Bottom line is I want to find something that fits, looks good, and doesn't break the bank. I know I could order something that fits, but I'd rather wait a little bit and see what I can find via a trade or CL or whatever. I don't think I was part of this forum when I bought my stuff or else I might have made some different choices. Live and learn!

i dont know if you wanna do 24s.. or if you even dig mine.. but im about to go a different direction and will be dropping these to someone painted to match for pretty cheap.. i think they would look sick all white.. like even the lip.. or even all black.. just cause the face is so big and it would be alot of colored area

Thanks for the offer, but I'm trying to go with 1 set. Imagine that! The salt around here *** up everything except factory chrome so I'm trying to find a set of nnbs 20s and sell both the other sets and keep the nnbs on year round. But I appreciate the offer.

It has got to be offset....

I have 305/40/22s on all four corners....I have a 5 inch drop in the rear...and my rims dont come close to hitting anything....I dont have any bump stops at all...the axle hits the frame and still doesnt rub in the back....

The front driver side used to rub against the fender lip inside and rip it down to cut through my tire...but since the new fender...thats never happened...my 305s on 22s tuck up inside the truck...the ONLY thing that rubs is if Im cranking the weel one way or the other and hit a big ass bump or curb at a higher speed like...5-10mph...other then that...I have 0 issues anymore...I have NO problem with travel while Im driving or towing..front or back...

I think my offset is 30(?) Blizzard what is yours? Your tires look like they sit flush w/the outside of your fender, like mine. I can fit 4 fingers between the tire and fender @ all 4 corners when empty. Put 2 kids in the back (100 lbs each) and my clearance gets cut in half. I was going to figure my clearance between wheel & fender, and get some bump stops that would hit before tires hit fender.

With the 17s on the other night, I had my Kids and their friends, (me & 6 kids, none over 125 lbs, kids that is) and it felt like I was bottoming out or @ least pushing the susp to its limits of happy movement over bumps or around corners.
