Alright guys, going a different direction with my swap, but I’ll keep my build thread updated! Help me help you help me get my Duramax/Allison swap moving!

6.0L LQ4 Vortec from 2005 Yukon Denali with 120K miles. 335HP 375TQ. Running when pulled. Comes with all accessories AND wiring harness, including exhaust manifolds with O2 sensors, starter, dished flexplate, 317 heads, coils, plugs, wires, dual fuel lines (easier for Vortec 350 swap that has supply/return lines). Has 0411 PCM, transmission harness, etc. Stored in the back of my Tahoe, so it stays dry! Selling locally for $1750, but for you guys, $1500!

Lq9 came in escalades and lq4 came in the denali's unless it was swapped. Only way to be sure is by vin or pulling the head to look at the piston

After further research, you would be correct! The Sierra Denali had LQ9 not Yukon Denali. 335HP/375TQ vs 345HP. Thank you!

I'm not sure why they told you that engine came from a 2005. I can tell just from the pictures that the engine is either a 2003 or 2004, but definitely not a 2005. For starters, it has a clutch fan. Starting in 2005, all Tahoes, Burbans and Yukons had electric fans.
Second, I can see the alternator and the alternator plug, and it's not the square 2pin plug that the 05 and up trucks have. 04 and earlier gave the flat 4 pin plug on the alternator, exactly what you have. Regardless, $1500 is still a good deal. I'm not trying to hate on you or anything, I just wanted to help you out and know what you really have there. :Handshake:

I appreciate the help! I bought it from a used parts place too, and have a receipt that says it came out of an 05 Yukon Denali. Granted, I didn’t see the truck though and they could have easily fudged it. At least I was smart enough to check the 6.0 stamping, head numbers, and made sure it had 8 spark plugs . Thanks for helping me out!

Well, at least you know that it's a 03 or 04 LQ4. But did it come from a Denali or from a 2500 work truck? I know an easy way to tell. Go look at the alternator very closely to see the laser engraving with the amp rating. If it's a 105a alternator, then no way in hell that engine came from a Denali. If it's a 145a alternator then it most likely either came in a Denali or a FULLY loaded 2500hd truck.
