You think open headers are redonkulous? Well you'll get a kick out of my truck when I've got the time and money to do it.

What are you planning on doing? Cut-outs? Doesn't get too much louder than open headers.

How much is the flashpaq? You could always buy that and then when Christmas comes around sell it and buy a BB Tune, atleast that's what I would do. Last year they had a xmas sale and I got my traditional tune for only $175. Great deal and totally worth the money.

I can get it for $180. That's a good idea about selling it, I wasnt sure if I could do that or not because I thought I remembered hearing something about handhelds locking to VINs after use? Maybe Im wrong...hopefully I am because that would be tremendous. If I could get a BBP tune for that price then I'd totally go for it but from what I've read Im going to have to do a crank relearn and that's going to be another $100. Unless I go with a data log? Then the core charge...it's all just too expensive for me right now but it definitely sounds worth the money once I can afford it.

Well you MIGHT have to do a crank relearn. I got one just incase. I don't think I payed anywhere close to $100 though.

Removing the cats and running a straight pipe sounds like crap. Leave that for all the rice kids. Or have fun listening to the constant crackling on the freeway. Just buy a full exhaust system and save yourself the hassle. Hey unless you want it to sound like a semi. :hands:

Replaced my muffler with a performance muffler (insynerator2)...definitely sounds 150% better but what should I do next to make it louder?

you can dump your tailpipe and put a turn down tip right on the muffler. i did it to mine and it sounds a lot better and louder.

just FWIW.. i never got a crank relearn and mine runs just fine. and as for the exhaust, i have stock mani's,true duals, test pipe in place of cats, and 2 super 44's dumped before the axle. my gf lives in the country and they can hear me a couple miles away if theyre outside, a mile inside. it also likes to set off car alarms in parking lots. i got justin's 89 octane tune with the cats tuned out and speedo adjusted to 265's cause i had 245's stock.

running open headers (no muffler and cats) will run a high risk of dropping a valve because you will have absolutely zero backpressure, therefore having to do some major engine work. I highly recommend you do not run open headers!

however, you can remove EITHER the cats OR the muffler. Not both though.
