I just learned the Google infotainment navigation volume voice is so low it almost can't be heard, when the voice is giving directions it should get louder by turning up the radio volume while it's talking but it doesn't, the navigation voice slider bar goes up but the voice volume doesn't. I did find a temporary fix by deleting the cache and storage for the maps but it doesn't hold its back to low volume in about a day or so. Have the same issue on our 25 Silverado also.

Yes, happened after the dealer update to Android 14 on my 25 Yukon and even though our 26 Terrain Denali which just had a infotainment module replaced and is still on Android 12 it also does the same as yours, crank the volume while Nav is talking and the slider goes up but the volume does not, more software issues, fix one and another develops.

There’s a separate volume adjustment for the navigation sound that I had to adjust on our last trip. I also have the updated Android 14 pushed by my dealer months ago but as genestoy mentioned above, as the navigation is speaking I tried adjusting the volume but to no avail so I had to go into the settings and adjust the navigation voice volume separately or at least that’s my recollection since its’ been a while ago.

Easy fix is to turn up the volume a little with the big round knob and when the panel pops up click on the speaker icon on the right, scroll down to the bottom and adjust the nav volume.

Don't use Google. Use Apple CarPlay. You'll have your choices of 3 navigation systems. When I'm in a hurry, I often use Waze. It's very aggressive at finding shortcuts that work. You can have the volume anywhere you want it.

And how do you propose to do that with an Android phone?

I've had this issue intermittently on my 2025 High Country. It will be randomly too low to hear one time, so I've adjusted the nav volume and then next time it's way too high. The infotainment system and HVAC controls in my truck have gremlins.

Have you checked to ensure the volume settings is not being adjusted by the Bose AudioPilot in the Audio settings, it may or may not be the culprit.

It could be. I've turned off Audio Pilot (for other reasons) since I've last had that problem.
