I'm new to the forum and new owner of a 2013 hoe, trying to decide on what lowering kit or parts to use to lower around a 2-3 F/ 4ish R but getting mixed information on having to use the djm kit with the offset links for sway bar relocation. Haven't been able to get a for sure answer why they are needed when belltech and others say they're not needed, just use shorter links but not the offset ones. Does it change the need for them if you use the spohn performance panhard bar to keep the rearend centered so there's no interference with other components. Thanks for any information and hope this makes sense. Thanks, Rick
With GM's relatively loose manufacturing tolerances, a 3"-4" rear drop is in the gray zone. The general rule of thumb is up to 3", they're not needed. But, anything more and they will be. Your driving style and condition of all other parts is a factor we can't account for. They're easy enough to change and won't require any double-working- Lower it and
then see if you need them. On the same token, at this amount of drop, the lower control arm relocators may or may not be necessary and it'd be more of a personal preference decision. My opinion is anything up to 3", these things aren't
necessary. But, 3.xx" or more gets relocators, offset sway bar links, adjustable panhard and a full "free travel mod" versus just trimming the bump stops.
