Has anyone ever put the longer overhead console in their Tahoe/Yukon? I can always use a couple more cubbies to stash things. I had one in my old 2000 Sierra. Does anyone know if the holes for it are there under the headliner? I don't want to just start cutting on things. Thanks.

Never done this but I saw this video before.

Thanks for posting that. So, it appears that the slots are there for the back, but the outline might be smaller than the current roof console in the front. I probably wouldn't be happy with that. I'll have to think about it for a while.

From the video, it looks like all you would have to do is clean the front to take out the lines from the previous console and then you'd likely be happy with fit and finish.

I'll be doing this on my 04 project suburban...

I'm swapping the overhead console from my 99 Silverado extended cab. I recently parted out a GMT400 crew cab with the overhead console, and will use that on the Silverado. The front cubby where the AC controls is smaller on the GMT400, so that will go on the Silverado since in doesn't have rear AC controls, and "repurpose" the Silverado overhead console for the Suburban... Both trucks need a headliner job so the overhead consoles will get redone at the same time as well.
