Lights and Radio

Installed a dd radio in my hoe. Yeeeeh me. NOT. everytime i turn the light switch it turns off. Is that what the illumination light on the harness is for. What is going on.

illumination is the wire that dims the radio. So when you dim your inside lights and dash lights, it will dim the radio as well...

So why when i turn the light switch the radio turns off.

could be anything. who wired it? what wiring harness? what year/make/model do you have? I know this is in the 00-06 section but 00-02 are much different than 03-06 for electronics

I did the wiring. followed all the labeling of both components. everything works. power on, even the radio goes off when i open the door. I'm about to start from scratch. this sucks.
