What should the engine code be? I dont know what I am looking at.

I forgot and Im too lazy to go in the garage right now, but I know denali's and I know yours isnt a denali its just a yukon. another thing is your interior doesnt have the woodgrain interior amongst other things which is a standard denali feature.

Edit*** I just saw your above post sorry bro, Not trying to be mean, just wanna let you know the truth.

Ditto to what the guys have said. You got a knock-off.

It could still be a 6.0 in there if someone replaced the engine at some point. Check the actual engine for displacement (or have a GMC mechanic take a look at it...I'm sure they'd know immediately), not the VIN.

No CD changer in the base of the dash/console, either. Not sure if that was an optional feature.

I would definitely check Carfax if you haven't yet.

I'd get my money back just for the principle of it where you were told you were buying something you weren't and didn't know until deeper investigation. But like said, just as a Yukon on it's own it's still pretty clean so I could see if you just kept it too unless it comes back as a salvage title or something.

I agree with 07burb, you were mislead. If he sold you a Yukon, under the premise it is a Denali, and that is not true; what else may be wrong or misleading?

Sorry you got hoodwinked, hopefully you can give it back or renegotiate the price since it is not what you thought it was.

One more thing: did the owner actually say it was a "Denali?" or did you assume it was due to the front end and the owner's manual? Not saying you still were not mislead, but if he said it was a "Denali" then that is a real problem.

I just got off the phone with him a little bit ago, he had no clue it wasn't a Denali, the dealership he works at did have a clue when they took it as a trade in (granted he works at Ford).

Its not like I can just take it back to him and say I want my money back. It is still a nice truck and still books for a lot more than what I paid for it. So what it isnt a Denali, I at least have a nice looking clone, and its 1 of 14 just like it.

:waytogo: I'd say build off of it then. You've already got the front end conversion piece taken care of so that's a big plus. Were you able to confirm the motor being a 6.0 or is it a 5.3 with 6.0 intake cover?

Casting numbers on the heads say its a 5.3, kinda sucks because we bought it to tow with, but the smaller motor should do okay.

Well if its not, the sucker is going back.....

I would return this immediately since this guy basically tried to shaft you and say you were buying a DENALI. 1 of 14 ? I think he was feeding you some BS man... If you are happy with it, keep it, but that is so not cool your 'friend' sold you that. I was looking closer into the pictures and the interior is identical to a yukon. The denali dash has so much wood grain on it and yours doesn't have any. Also is that an SLT badge on the exterior of your car right after your rear doors?

BTW, if you do decide to keep it, you might as well look for the denali door mouldings and running boards and rip off the contradicting yukon SLT mouldings.. it's like a 60% denali conversion so far... you could have a little project on your hands haha (looking at the brighter side of this deal that is...)

Although that does sucks, I'd just keep it and move on to getting it how you'd like it.
The 5.3l is a great motor and can tow a good amount of weight.

I do have to laugh at the FORD dealership... LOL

So there are 14 others out there identical to yours? Did they tell you that too? I know the factory doesn't build them with conversion front ends.

No that came from here.

http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7423

I put in my vin and it it said one of 14.

Im going to keep it, I might do the rest of the conversion but I doubt it. I have enough projects on my hand and I dont need this to turn into another one.

That 1 of 14 doesn't mean jack anymore since it was obviously "converted" to something else, IMO...

It would be easy to acquire the some door side mouldings and running boards. With just those two things it will already look like a denali if no one looks at your rear bumper cover. So it's 1 of 14 GMC Yukon's that were made like that then?

At least you've come to the point of just keeping it. The 5.3 is a good motor and you'll be happy with it. Due to the 6.0 plastics I'd say someone went to great lengths to disguise this as something that it's not which is sad. Stuff like this is why people don't trust stealerships....

I know the 5.3 is a very good motor, I worked at a performance shop for years and can tell you how many lsx motors we worked on. I am really happy with the truck it looks really good and is in great shape for the year.

I dont think the "stealership" had any fault in this one except for being ignorant. Our Ford Dealership here has a really great reputation. I have a carfax on it now, it came back clean, the only thing that shows up on it is where the transfer case was replaced, and the guy I bought it from did that, and told me it had been done.
