Hey, I've been around for a little while but never really posted much. I mostly read the weekly archive. I bought this 2008 Tahoe LTZ at an estate auction two years ago for $2800 because it wouldn't start, it had been sitting for 5 years and just had a bad fuel pump relay. It was filthy but only 78k original miles, had it detailed, and it looks amazing now. It has every single option you could order for a 2008 Tahoe including power running boards (those were stuck and took some work to get moving again), heated washer fluid, rear DVD, navigation, third row seating, etc. It had GM aftermarket wheels that I didn't like so I swapped them with some 2017 Silverado LTZ 20" wheels that I picked up for $800. Nothing has been done to it, totally stock. It sits around a lot! The truck now has 84k miles on it, so maybe 3k a year.

Welcome from Virginia nice find. Why can’t I ever run across these? Check the NTSB website for a recall on the heated washer fluid. Mine is an 07 and had one. Fire hazard. Maybe fixed for 08

I believe the official GM "fix" for any/all equipped units was to chop and tape the wires.

Unfortunately, they never came up with a fix. At first, they issued a recall where they changed something. Then, when that didn't work, they issued a second recall where they just removed it altogether and refunded the owner (I think) $200.

Something like that. I think mine was just unplugged and removed. The upside to that it, there's a plug-and-play aftermarket one that, supposedly, works fine and costs about what the original owners were refunded which I believe was $200.
