iPhone adapter and mount.

I'm looking to turn this ashtray into an iPhone mount. Anyone done this? Also looking for an adapter like this one:

But for my year which is 05.

Wish I could help ya, I know there are products out there for your year of truck, just not sure on the best places these days for them!! Wish I had an option for that n my '02, last I'd heard there was none!!

I came across this link from another site where you can intercept your XM radio signal and use it for your Iphone. I just did it yesterday and it works great! The steering wheel controls still work for volume, the XM radio plays when the Iphone isn't plugged in, then when you plug in the Iphone, it plays through it.

Now I just need to figure out how to mod the ashtray into a mount for the iPhone. It would be really nice to be able to close it up when not in use and keep the OEM style.

I know this is off topic... but taylorjm, were the wire colors the same as listed in that link for the avalanche? BRN/WHT and GRN/WHT for the left and right audio and BLK/WHT for the common wire?

I have a 2006 tahoe and found a radio wiring diagram but it didn't list that secondary connector where the xm wires are just the main radio connector.

Never seen it done. Also, mine doesn't have an ash tray....not that I need one.

I don't get the ashtray at all so it just sits there unused and seems like I could find some use for it. But I don't smoke so... It's gotta change!
