So took the first long trip where i needed the Google nav. Hate it! Takes forever to load route. Freezes up. Between this & my radio presets moving, the radio cut out upon startup, google taking way to long to load up to recognize voice commands, etc., etc., GM could have done much better with the infotainment system.

I agree 100% - That is why I keep my trusty Garmin DriveSmart 61 in our Yukon, never fails. GM should never have released such a buggy infotainment system.

Totally agree that infotainment is slow, buggy and annoying. Google should be embarrassed to have its name attached to such a half-a$$ed system.

Anybody have any luck with dealers recognizing the problems? Just wishful thinking

Have you tried using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto? Somebody mentioned that there’s been a few updates to the system since released but the overall consensus is that it’s not great.

I hated the new Google GPS system too until I figured out how to use it. Now if I save locations on my phone, when the Bluetooth connects, it is all there. Everything including maps loads faster than the system in the 2016 that I traded and is much more accurate for routing around construction which is a huge problem this time of year in Michigan.

What satellite map system does waze use?
It’s user based I think.
Users have tokens on device that allow Waze to analyze real time traffic conditions and suggest best routes based on average travel speed of users moving on alternate routes

I also dislike the OEM system bc it took us up an off-road mountain 1 lane gravel road. I had to get out and direct my wife where to drive bc we almost got stuck.

A few years back i had borrowed my dads garmin for a trip up into the up of Michigan, and used it to get me somewhere once up there, and it took me off of the state route, amd ended up on a logger "road" for about 20 miles, and i ended up back on the highway after the 45 minute side trip. So that isnt necessarily an oem issue.

We've used Garmin for about the last ten years and had maybe two instances when we were routed off an interstate, through a business route, then right back on the interstate route. But the map, speed and speed limits, pictured off/on ramps, distance to next turn and description, plus all the other info on different screens can't be beat. Our Onstar Nav didn't come close. And I can change the Garmin route while moving. Just don't understand why General Motors can't match or exceed this. And the Garmin has free updates.

The 21 OEM system is great if connected. Warns of traffic and jams, reroutes, provides fuel and other local information and doesn't totally monopolize the entertainment system. I hate how AA or ACP totally takes over the entire GUI.

I can't figure out how to delete old routes. I've deleted them from my phone, but they still show up on my truck. Places I'll never go to again, such as my daughter's former apartment

I hate this infotainment system too! It drives me nuts that I have to stop in the middle of the road to scroll further through my music on my usb. Anyone figure out a way around the scrolling limit while in motion? I sure hope a future update addresses this. I also wish there was a way just to view the folders and files as how they are arranged on the USB drive instead of by artist/album/song. The 2014 MyLink infotainment system in my Camaro was way better!

Same problem w/ the music on the USB. I actually still have an Ipod w/ my music. Infotainment system won't recognize the Ipod. Tried the Ipod in my brother's '22 camaro & '22 Sierra 2500....works fine. Tried it on another Yukon in the dealer's lot, won't work! Just another reason why I hate this system!

That's why so many people avoid all things Google. (Searching with DuckDuckGo is much better.) With AppleCar Play, I will use either Apple Maps or Waze Navigation. TRUE factory navigation has certain advantages over anything utilizing your iPhone. With true factory navigation (like Toyota utilizes) the navigation system will have access to the compass in the vehicle and will have much better reception to the GPS satellites in the sky. When you're using your iPhone, the navigation system does not know your direction unless you're actually moving. Something else to bear in mind, Waze navigation is very aggressive in rerouting you to save every possible minute. Some people like this, (like me) others do not.

I complained about this to my local dealer. They took the car away, plugged in their computer. Problem is gone. Talk to your dealer. If your dealer won't do it, go to another one. They also fixed it so the evil Daytime Running Lights will not automatically come on. I can turn them on manually, if I want to.

So you can scroll thru your entire usb when you are alone in the car?
Do you happen to have any comments on your service order that I can use w/ my dealer?

I had the same experience with Apple maps. I flew out to MI to buy a boat in the UP. Rented a truck and drove over night to get home with the boat. Apple maps took me off the highway down 3 miles of dirt road and planted me right back on the same highway....LOL

I just use my Garmin or TomTom..... No issues....
Unless you don't update. It sent me to the side of the freeway......
It was my fault.... I didn't update ..... The freeway off ramp was changed 500 feet away, up the road.
On another note..... I HATE OEM installed GPS's...... ( Why do they need to be over complicated?)
